Chetan is a clean-tech entrepreneur with 18 years of experience in creating value for renewable energy projects using data science and AI. He is the founder and the co-creator of PowerUQ. Chetan previously built and led data science team at BrightNight Power, an IPP, delivering a $200M estimated business upside through AI-powered project optimization (PowerAlpha) servicing 40GW pipeline. Prior, he served as the lead data scientist at SunPower, where he built predictive and diagnostic analytics for over 500,000 PV systems, including uncertainty analysis tools for underwriting solar performance guarantees. His early career consisted of stints at four tier-1 VC-funded Silicon Valley startups building software and hardware for solar, storage and smart grid industries.
Chetan holds several patents on application of AI for energy systems and has presented, published and co-chaired several industry conferences. He holds a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University and executive education from Stanford GSB and Berkeley Hass.
Mark is a leading expert in solar performance uncertainty research with over 15 years of experience spanning applied mathematics and software development and a co-creator of PowerUQ. He led post-doctoral research on solar module uncertainty characterization at National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Mark brings deep domain expertise in simulation, modeling and has contributed extensively to the pvlib-python initiative by PV Performance Modeling Collaborative (PVPMC). He holds a PhD in Mathematics from Montana State University.
