PowerUQ x PlantPredict webinar: April 8th 11AM PDT
Chetan is the founder and CEO of PowerUQ, with 18 years building data science and AI solutions for renewable energy projects. Chetan previously built and led data science products at BrightNight, an IPP, delivering a $200M estimated business upside through AI-powered project optimization (PowerAlpha) servicing 40GW pipeline. Prior, he served as the first and lead data scientist at SunPower, where he built predictive and diagnostic analytics for 500,000+ solar and storage systems, including uncertainty analysis tools for underwriting solar performance guarantees. His early career consisted of roles at four Silicon Valley startups building software and hardware for solar, storage and smart grid applications.
Chetan holds several patents on application of AI for energy systems and has presented, published and co-chaired at leading industry conferences. He holds a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University and executive education from Stanford GSB and Berkeley Hass.
Co-creator of PowerUQ, Mark brings expertise in solar-performance uncertainty research, with over 20 years of experience spanning applied mathematics and software engineering. As a post doctoral research at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), he researched the standardization and best practices for uncertainty quantification in both measurements and computational models. At the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), Mark conducted further post-doctoral activities on the analysis and reduction of uncertainty in solar PV reference cell and module characterization. Mark brings deep domain expertise in modeling and computational simulation, is the author of the single-diode-model-fitting package PVfit, and has contributed to the pvlib-python initiative by PV Performance Modeling Collaborative (PVPMC). He holds a PhD in Mathematics from Montana State University.
